Celebrant wedding ceremonies

Wedding ceremonies in Somerset

Congratulations! You have decided to plan a ceremony to celebrate a most special event.

How do you want to experience and remember your Wedding Day? Something truly reflecting your wishes, your desires, your personalities and exactly as you want it to be? Many people today want to personalise their ceremony and leave behind the restrictions and traditions of a religious or belief service. With me as your Independent Wedding Celebrant, living in Somerset, near Taunton, you will call all the shots and take control.

Legally in England a civil marriage will take place in a registry office or a designated place for weddings and officiated by a registrar or assistant registrar. Couples who chose to use an Independent Wedding Celebrant often go first to see the registrar, usually a day or some days, or even weeks, before the bespoke day, with 2 witnesses. Often at this stage couples do not exchange rings or own vows/commitments until the independent ceremony. You can also choose to do the legal bit after your bespoke wedding ceremony if that works better for you.

What location can I have my wedding ceremony in?

On the actual day of your wedding ceremony you can chose the location of your dreams and any special elements to make your day unique to you. You do not need to be restricted to registered venues like religious buildings, registry offices council licensed venue. You can be outside in nature (e.g. on Glastonbury Tor, Exmoor under the stars, or the North Somerset Coast or on a beautiful Devon or Dorset beach), in your own garden or home, at a hotel or venue that is special to you.

I live near Taunton and Bridgwater but am very happy to travel across the South West of England, and further in England and the UK and abroad to deliver the ceremony of your dreams.

What is a wedding ceremony carried out by a civil celebrant like?

You do not have to conform to a uniform script and can include any elements such as flower eternity rings, jumping the broom, handfasting, wine or rose ceremonies, or unity candle, unity sand or unity canvas ceremonies, or other elements that are bespoke to you. Family and friends and children and pets can all be involved in your ceremony if you desire. The key is that I truly listen to you and help you design your perfect ceremony. The only limits are your imaginations.

What as an Independent Wedding Celebrant in Somerset do I do?

I will meet with you (in person or Skype according to your preferences), I listen to your hopes and wishes and get to know you. I will give you ideas for ceremony elements and advise how to ensure the ceremony flows beautifully. I will write the ceremony, ensure any selected elements are bespoke to you, and support you (if you wish) to write your own vows/commitment words.

I will share drafts of the ceremony with you and we will have a run through before the event. On the day I will deliver a truly memorable, personal, unique ceremony.

You will receive a personalised A4 wedding certificate which can be signed during your ceremony by two witnesses. An A3 sized parchment is also available. You will also receive a presentation copy of your ceremony as a keepsake of your wedding.

Talk to meĀ and see if what your dream of for your ceremony I can make come true for you.
